The Tackers Program is designed for school children aged between the ages of 7 to 9 as a safe, fun games based learning course, in specially designed Optimist Dinghies. All Canberra Yacht Club staff are qualified instructors through Yachting Australia. The Tackers levels move from Level 1 “Having Fun”  and then progress to Level 2 “Tricks and Techniques” and finally Level 3 “Sailing Fast”. All these programs will be conducted over the term and Canberra Yacht Clubs’ successful Holiday Programs. More information here.

Membership Renewal
Membership renewal and FSE can be done via credit card using the membership link. Renew or join on-line! Boat parking must be done at the office, pay your boat parking ½ yearly if that helps. All crew must be members of the CYC to participate in races, so make sure your crew are all CYC members. Racing entry form is here.

Summer Sailing with more variety and new challenges!
Summer sailing will not just be the Championship and Pointscore this year. A new standalone series is being introduced to provide some additional variety and challenges. Called the Big Boat Long Distance and Dinghy Short Course Series will take place on one Sunday a month. The larger boats and catamarans will have courses being set to include where possible Yarramundi Reach. The Dinghy classes will have two races on the Sunday in West Basin. This will give the larger boats the opportunity to stretch their legs and challenge themselves as they navigate through Tarcoola and Yarramundi Reaches. The dinghies will have two starts, so the chance to develop their starting skills and the short course format should keep the racing tighter and hopefully even more exciting. For those with Full Season Entry there is no additional cost for the series. Notice of race can be found here.
